Before They Were Stars: Kristin Davis in “Doom Asylum”

I’ve recently covered Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall in my Sex and the City-themed “Before They Were Stars” features, so now it’s Kristin Davis’ turn to take the spotlight in her screen debut in a 1987 slasher flick called Doom Asylum. Even though she plays a supporting character in the film, I’m sure it should come as no surprise that they would eventually plaster her name and face all over the DVD release. Kristin’s filmography doesn’t list any more credits until 1991 and I’d like to think it’s because she spent those four years taking acting lessons. Quite frankly, her acting in Doom Asylum is pretty atrocious, but this just goes to show you that some actors can overcome the most inauspicious beginnings to find success.
