Celebrity Birthday of the Day – December 13

Time for another “That Guy” birthday! Robert Prosky was a legendary character actor who may not have amassed the enormous filmography that many other famous character actors have, but lots of Prosky’s roles were in such high-profile movies that it’s almost guaranteed that you’ll recognize him. Prosky began his career on the stage on Philadelphia and soon moved into making TV appearences. One of his first major film roles was in the big-screen adaptation of Stephen King’s novel Christine. He also played a part in the underrated and largely forgotten horror movie The Keep, and had prominent roles in Outrageous Fortune, The Great Outdoors, Broadcast News, Last Action Hero, Hoffa, Rudy, Mrs. Doubtfire, and Dead Man Walking. He also continued to work in television, making appearances on shows such as Cheers, Frasier, Veronica’s Closet, The Practice, and ER. Robert Prosky died in 2008 at the age of 78.
