It may be totally cheesy, but I kinda dig this TV spot for the 84th Academy Awards. It’s a widely accepted fact that Billy Crystal is one of the greatest Oscar hosts of all time, so naturally it excites me to see him in this ad, but don’t get me wrong: this is very corny stuff. Overall, this commercial relies way too heavily on celebrity cameos and a big-budget look in an attempt to make up from some pretty dumb one-liners…but I don’t care. It’s Billy Crystal, and that gives me a good reason to look forward to the Oscars this year.
