Before They Were Stars: Alan Tudyk in “Patch Adams”

Early on in Patch Adams, the title character voluntarily checks himself into a mental institution and finds his calling when he discoverts that his positive attitude and sense of humour are helping give his fellow patients a new purpose in life. One of those patients is played by an unknown Alan Tudyk in only his second career role, whose life is changed for the better when Patch whispers the words “Joss Whedon” into his ear. Okay, that’s not true, he just teaches the other patients that masturbation is good.
