Star Wars Uncut: Director’s Cut

In 2009, Casey Pugh asked thousands of Internet users to remake “Star Wars: A New Hope” into a fan film, 15 seconds at a time. Contributors were allowed to recreate scenes from Star Wars however they wanted.

I’ve actually posted about the Star Wars Uncut project on TBR before, but unfortunately some legal issues prevented its full release…that is, until now! Now the fan film can be seen in its entirety on Youtube, and man, it’s just amazing. Puppets, cheesy live-action, and at least one hamburger help to recreate the classic sci-fi flick, and it’s brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. I can’t praise this enough. Perhaps the funniest thing about it, though, is that it even though it has a low-tech, slapdash, sweded style to it, Star Wars Uncut is still a zillion times better than the high-tech, CGI-saturated prequel trilogy. But then, so is a root canal.
