Man, what a strange trend! Who could have guessed that 2012 would see the release of not one but TWO movies based around the premise of a former American president fighting supernatural monsters? While I’m definitely looking forward to seeing if Timur Bekmambetov’s Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter can entertain beyond its title, I think this trailer for FDR: American Badass may just trump it in terms of awesomeness. First, there’s the cast, which includes Rocky Horror’s Barry Bostwick as FDR, character actor Bruce McGill (of Animal House and My Cousin Vinny, among other things), and Kevin “Hercules” Sorbo as Honest Abe! Then there’s the plot summary. Get a load of this:
The story follows Franklin D. Roosevelt (Bostwick) as a badass werewolf hunter tracking down the likes of Adolf Hitler, Mussolini, and Hirohito in his customized wheelchair of death. This isn’t the FDR you know, this guy’s got lip, and will punch you in yours.
Allow me emphasize a couple of plot details here. FDR has a CUSTOMIZED WHEELCHAIR OF DEATH which he uses to fight WEREWOLF HITLER. Sorry, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, but I think you’ve been beaten at your own game.
FDR: American Badass doesn’t have an official release date yet, but you can bet I will be keeping a close eye on this movie. Werewolf Hitler! Amazing, just amazing.
