Celebrity Birthday of the Day – February 7

The eldest child of Academy Award-winning actor Jose Ferrer and singer Rosemary Clooney, Miguel Ferrer has show business in his blood. Raised in Hollywood, Ferrer was first interested in music and played the drums on Keith Moon’s Two Sides of the Moon. In the early 1980’s, Ferrer moved into television acting, and by 1984 he had expanded his repertoire to film as well, with early roles in Star Trek III: The Search for Spock and RoboCop. Since then, Ferrer’s reputation as a charactor actor has grown tremendously, and he has played roles in many films including DeepStar Six, The Stand, Traffic, and Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me (a reprisal of his role from the TV series). Ferrer has also proven that he has a sense of humour about his roles, having played a part in Hot Shots! Part Deux, and has done a large amount of voice acting, lending his talents to the villainous Shan Yu in Mulan, as well as the protagonist Jack in the video game BioShock. More recently, Ferrer has been doing a lot of TV work again, with reoccuring roles on Crossing Jordan, Bionic Woman, The Protector, Young Justice, and Desperate Housewives. He turns 57 today.
