Before They Were Stars: Eva Mendes in the Music Video for Will Smith’s “Miami”

I’ve featured plenty of celebrities who got their start by appearing in music videos, but here’s a special case where the artist in the video and the future celebrity eventually headlined a movie together. This is the music video for Will Smith’s 1998 hit single, “Miami” and at the 1:09 mark, Will winds up making eyes at a girl driving a car, who just happens to be played by a young, unknown Eve Mendes. I guess they must have made a connection since seven years later, they wound up being a couple in the romantic comedy, Hitch.
