Celebrity Birthday of the Day – February 26

Drew Goddard is a man with lots of talent, as can be seen by his rabid internet fanbase! After attending the University of Colorado, Goddard worked as a production assistant in L.A. for a time following his graduation. In the early 2000s, a spec script that Goddard had written for the series Six Feet Under came to the attention of the producers of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and its spinoff series Angel. Joss Whedon decided to sign Goddard on to the final season of Buffy, and after that show had finished, Goddard moved over to Angel, writing a total of nine episodes between the two series. In 2004, Goddard joined the crew of Lost as a freelance writer, and in 2008 his screenplay for Cloverfield became a major motion picture under the guidance of J.J. Abrams. Goddard’s feature film directorial debut comes this year in the form of The Cabin in the Woods, and he has a screenplay for Robopocalypse in the works as well. As a final piece of trivia, Goddard has a cameo in Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog as Fake Thomas Jefferson. Drew Goddard turns 37 today.
