Cookie Monster, Wheel Stealer

Regular readers of The Back Row know that I’m a huge Jim Henson fan, so it should come as no surprise that I love all the early stuff that Henson and his puppets did before the Muppets hit the big time. Here we see the earliest incarnation of the beloved Cookie Monster in an unaired commercial for an old General Mills snack called Wheels, Flutes, and Crowns. While I do love Cookie Monster as the Wheel Stealer with his pointy teeth, I think I actually prefer the bit where the monster smashes its way out of the TV. If only commercials were still this good.
