Before They Were Stars: Keanu Reeves in an MTV Commercial

It’s a subject that film fans will debate until the end of time: is Keanu Reeves really THAT bad an actor, or was he just so convincing in the Bill & Ted movies that it was impossible to take him seriously in all of his future roles? It’s tough to say, but you can get a glimpse of where his Ted “Theodore” Logan persona evolved in this MTV commercial from 1987. You can’t deny that Keanu is perfectly cast in this commercial, as it features him acting stoned and rambling on incoherently for a full minute, and you don’t even find out what the hell the ad is supposed to be about until the very end!
