A wealthy asset manager (Robert Pattinson) who crosses the whole of Manhattan across 24 hours in a stretch limo just for a haircut. However, the guy can’t get a break as he’s repeatedly delayed by a presidential motorcade, anti-globalization demonstrations, and a celebrity funeral. But his biggest problem comes when he must deal with the repercussions of a risky bet against the yen on a bad day for the market that may cause him to lose all his money and his newlywed bride.
Wow…I never thought I’d ever say this, but…but…I’m really looking forward to this Robert Pattinson movie. Oh sure, it’s directed by David Cronenberg in full-blown weirdo mode, but it’s still freaking Edward Cullen! I’m not supposed to look forward to anything he does! But then, a movie where I get to see him get tazed in the chest and shot through the hand is probably a pretty likely exception to that rule. And the supporting cast including Kevin Durand, Jay Baruchel, Samantha Morton, Juliette Binoche, and Paul Giamatti doesn’t hurt.
On a side note, I love that all the Youtube comments on this preview are from obvious Twilight fans talking about how hot Pattinson looks in this. I can’t wait for them to watch it and be horrified as Cronenberg makes him pee in his limo or have sex with some tumor-like organism.
Cosmopolis doesn’t have an official release date yet, but is expected to drop sometime this summer.
