Before They Were Stars: Hugo Weaving as Student#2 in “Maybe This Time”

I always find it amusing when obscure old films with no distinctive or memorable qualities at all manage to garner some interest because they happen to showcase a famous star in an early role. Such was the case with Maybe This Time, a completely unremarkable 1981 Australian melodrama which features the acting debut of Hugo Weaving as “Student#2”. Hugo is about 20 here and looks scrawny as hell compared to now, and even though he is mostly a background player in most of his scenes, Student#2 does get two whole lines of dialogue.
