Celebrity Birthday of the Day – April 14

A few days ago I featured Saorsie Ronan as the Celebrity Birthday of the Day, and now here’s another example of a very young actor who delivers pretty damn good performances every time. The amount of fame that these talented young people have acquired already is just absolutely staggering! Abigail Breslin made her acting debut in a Toys “R” Us commercial at the age of three, and when she was five years old she played the cute and eccentric little girl Bo Hess in M. Night Shyamalan’s Signs. Now, say what you want about that movie, but I think she did a pretty damn good job for a five year old. Her big break came in the 2006 indie comedy Little Miss Sunshine, where her performance as Olive Hoover garnered her an Oscar nomination (making her the fourth youngest actress to be nominated in the Best Supporting Actress category). She then went on to appear in the films No Reservations, Definitely, Maybe, Nim’s Island, Kit Kittredge: An American Girl, and My Sister’s Keeper. But her best film, by far, in my opinion, was Zombieland. Breslin also provided her voice for the animated film Rango and is set to star in the upcoming adaptation of the Orson Scott Card novel Ender’s Game. Simply amazing. What have you been doing with YOUR life lately? Abigail Breslin turns 16 today.
