Before They Were Stars: Sandra Bullock on “Working Girl: The TV Series”

You may remember the Academy Award-nominated 1988 comedy, Working Girl, which starred Sigourney Weaver, Melanie Griffith and Harrison Ford. Like just about every other film that had a modicum of success during this time period, the networks attempted to turn Working Girl into a TV series, and just like the ill-fated television spinoffs of Parenthood, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and Look Who’s Talking, it met with a quick cancellation as only eight of its twelve filmed episodes even made it to air. However, Working Girl is notable for providing Sandra Bullock with one of her very first starring roles as Melanie Griffith’s character from the film. You may also recognize Nana Visitor of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine fame playing her boss here, along with some guy whom I believe is Paul Rudd’s clone.
