Sidescrolling video games are probably my favourite kind of video games. I don’t know what it is about those 2D-planed platformers that tickles my gamer fancy, but man do I love ’em. Which means, of course, that I’m super excited for all these new sidescroller games coming out of E3! Like The Cave from Double Fine and Tim Schafer, seen above, wherein you get to choose three characters to play, each with unique skills that help you overcome obstacles! Deadlight – Fear Yourself, seen below, looks particularly interesting, as it promises to be something like Limbo, a game that I really enjoyed, combined with The Walking Dead and set in 1980s Seattle. Whoa!

But it’s the game Guacamelee that walked away with the Best Title Award.
