This new TV spot for The Dark Knight Rises puts the new version of the Batwing, this time just called “The Bat”, right in the middle of the spotlight. Many people have already pointed out how silly it is of Lucius Fox to name this flying machine “The Bat”, considering how everything that Wayne Enterprises creates is carefully documented to the point where it almost got Batman in trouble in The Dark Knight, but I couldn’t care less. My interest lies squarely on the fact that Bruce Wayne seems to be using a cane throughout this commercial. Oh, and we also see Bane smush Bruce’s face pretty violently. What does this all mean? Does Bane break Batman’s back, as in the comics? Or could it be that my theory will become a reality, and Batman will actually die at the end of this movie? We’re not far from TDKR‘s release date, so only time will tell…
The Dark Knight Rises comes out July 20, 2012.
