Recognize this guy? No? How about now?
If you grew up in the 90s, odds are good that you know Michael McShane, because he appeared in some pretty popular (if not high-quality) movies and TV shows during that time. McShane began his on-screen career in the late 1980s, but in 1991 he gained much attention with his (dare I say iconic?) portrayal of Friar Tuck in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. Following the success of that film, McShane landed a reoccurring role on the series The Big One, and appeared on The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles and Broadway Stories before making another major film appearance, this time in 1994’s Richie Rich. Other notable film appearances from McShane include Tom and Huck, A Bug’s Life, Drop Dead Gorgeous, Office Space, Treasure Planet, and Big Trouble. Notable TV credits include Seinfeld, Caroline in the City, The Drew Carey Show, Clerks: The Animated Series, Malcolm in the Middle, and ER. He’s also voiced the character of Cid in the video games Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2. Michael McShane turns 57 today.
