Before They Were Stars: Jennifer Lopez as a Backup Dancer for New Kids on the Block

I’ve already featured Jennifer Lopez’s first high-profile job as a Fly Girl dancer on In Living Color, but shortly before that, she had a brief run as a backup dancer for the one and only New Kids on the Block. You can see her dancing in the background of this New Kids number from the 1991 American Music Awards. You’ll notice that In Living Color creator Keenen Ivory Wayans (sporting the worst tuxedo ever!) introduces this number, so it’s likely she got her Fly Girl job on the basis of this performance.
