This is why I love the internet

Lost on their vacation, Mike and his family have wandered the desert trying to find a place to stay, only to wind up in the haunted Valley Lodge. Maintained by Torgo, an unusual man/satyr who “takes care of the place while The Master is away”, the hotel is swimming with paranormal activity which Mike has to brave through to find his now missing family. Who is The Master, and what does he want with Mike’s family? Armed with his trusty revolver, Mike will have to wander the haunted halls, venture out into the desert, uncover a dark temple and battle the forces of darkness to find out!

FreakZone Games has made a retro-looking video game out of Manos: The Hands of Fate. Yes, that Manos – the atrocious cult movie that is ranked as one of the worst films ever made, and was ruthlessly heckled by Mystery Science Theater 3000. Why anyone thought making a video game out of such a notoriously terrible film is beyond me, but…but…the video actually looks cool! It has a terrific retro vibe to it, and appears to be about a gazillion times more entertaining than the movie it’s based on. Plus, it features Torgo with his giant knees! I absolutely need to play this. Only in a world where fans of terrible movies can connect online and form cult communities could something like this come to be.

Manos: The Hands of Fate is currently available for iOS. I’m still amazed that this exists. Thank you, internet. And thank you, FreakZone Games.
