Martin Freeman decided to pursue acting as a career at the age of seventeen, and made his television debut in 1997 on an episode of the TV series The Bill. Other early credits in his career include TV shows such as This Life, Casualty, Picking up the Pieces, Bruiser, Black Books, and the movie The Low Down. In 2001 he starred on the British series of The Office, and his star has been on the rise ever since.
Since The Office, Freeman has appeared in such popular movies as Ali G Indahouse, Love Actually, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, Hot Fuzz, The Pirates! Band of Misfits, and the upcoming trilogy of The Hobbit. He also plays Dr. John Watson on the modern Sherlock TV series, and I know we’re all eagerly anticipating that show’s third season.
