Before They Were Stars: 15-Year Old Michael J. Fox on “Leo & Me”

Michael J. Fox is a fellow Canuck, so before he made it big in Hollywood, he had to make the rounds on low-budget Canadian television. In 1976, at the age of 15, he got a starring role on a short-lived CBC-produced sitcom called Leo & Me. Now, I’ve heard of movies sitting on the shelf for several years before they get released, but Leo & Me is one of the only cases I know of where this has happened to a television show since it never actually aired until 1981! What’s even more unusual about Leo & Me is that in addition to Fox, THREE other people who worked on the show went on to develop Parkinson’s! This is either one creepy coincidence or we can somehow pinpoint this show as the origin of Fox’s disease.
