Celebrity Birthday of the Day – October 7

One of the very first things I wrote on TBR was about my love of the musical comedy stylings of Tim Minchin. Minchin got his big break with his live show “Dark Side” in 2005, which debuted at the 2005 Melbourne International Comedy Festival to much critical acclaim. To date, Minchin has released six albums, three DVDs, and countless international live shows, and continues to tour today. He also wrote the lyrics and music for the award-winning Matilda the Musical, based on the Roald Dahl book Matilda, and has also done some acting in the 2008 film Two Fists, One Heart and in some upcoming episodes of Californication, set to air in 2013. Minchin is also an outspoken atheist and skeptic, as evidenced by one of his more famous beat poems “Storm”. He turns 37 today.
