Calista Flockhart is, and always will be, Ally McBeal, but she began her career almost a decade earlier in a 1989 episode of Guiding Light. She also appeared in films such as Naked in New York, Getting In and Quiz Show before landing the title role in the Ally McBeal series in 1997. She played Ally McBeal for five years and won a Golden Globe for the role in 1998. In 1999 she had one of the principal parts in the film adaptation of A Midsummer Night’s Dream and played a role in Things You Can Tell Just by Looking at Her, but since Ally McBeal ended, she has only acted in a handful of projects such as the film Fragile and the TV series Brothers & Sisters. And, as you probably also know, she is married to Harrison Ford. She turns 49 today.
