Living and patrolling the breathtaking skies from thousands of feet above, Jack’s soaring existence is brought crashing down when he rescues a beautiful stranger from a downed spacecraft. Her arrival triggers a chain of events that forces him to question everything he knows and puts the fate of humanity in his hands.
I know a lot of people weren’t impressed with Joseph Kosinski’s TRON Legacy, but I quite enjoyed it for what it was (consider how cheesy the original TRON was, guys), and so I’ve been curious to see what Kosinski’s follow-up would be. Looks like it’s Oblivion, an original sci-fi action movie starring Tom Cruise and Morgan Freeman…and just typing those words manages to get me excited. I’m not a big Cruise fan, but I loved him in Minority Report, and Freeman is the king of cool. Rise of the Planet of the Apes was terrific, so Oblivion has a decent pedigree…I dunno. I guess this could bomb badly, but from everything I’m seeing in this trailer, I think it’s going to be a damn good time.
