Happy 12-12-12! Jennifer Connelly began her career as a model when she was ten years old. She modelled for a number of print ads and appeared in television commercials and on the cover of several issues of Seventeen magazine. At the time, she had no aspirations to become an actor, and even dabbled in music, recording two pop songs for the Japanese market. In 1984, she made her film debut in the Sergio Leone gangster epic Once Upon a Time in America. More film roles followed, and since then she has appeared in films such as Phenomena, Labyrinth (I had such a crush on her in this when I was younger), The Rocketeer, Dark City, Waking the Dead, Requiem for a Dream, Pollock, A Beautiful Mind, House of Sand and Fog, Dark Water, Little Children, Blood Diamond, Reservation Road, The Day the Earth Stood Still, Inkheart, 9, and Creation. You have no power over me! Jennifer Connelly turns 42 today.
