David S. Goyer began his professional screenwriting career straight out of university, graduating from the University of Southern California’s School of Cinema-Television in 1988 and selling his first screenplay (Death Warrant) in 1989. He has been writing ever since, with some of his notable credits including The Substitute, Dark City, Blade, Blade II, Blade Trinity (which he also directed), Batman Begins, Jumper, The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises, Call of Duty: Black Ops, Call of Duty: Black Ops II, and the upcoming Man of Steel. Goyer also created the TV series FlashForward, directing a few episodes, and directed the films The Invisible and The Unborn. He turns 47 today.
