Charlyne Yi’s star is on the rise following her awesome turn as Dr. Park in the final season of House. Frankly, I think she was one of the only reasons to watch that season in the first place. Yi dropped out of university to pursue a career in stand-up comedy, but doesn’t so much tell jokes as she plays games, does magic tricks and gets the audience to participate. Yi made her film debut in the 2007 film Knocked Up, and would go on to appear in small roles in Cloverfield, Semi-Pro, and All About Steve. In 2009 she co-wrote, produced, and starred in the quasi-documentary Paper Heart with Michael Cera, and appeared on the TV show Yo Gabba Gabba the following year. She can now be seen in the Judd Apatow semi-sequel to Knocked Up titled This Is 40. Charlyne Yi turns 27 today.
