Before They Were Stars (2-for-1 Special): Clive Owen and David Thewlis in “Vroom”

Vroom is a 1988 British film which is so obscure that it doesn’t even have its own Wikipedia entry. It’s got a very standard story involving two young men and a woman going a road trip in a classic car… but what makes Vroom notable is the fact that the two young men are played by Clive Owen and David Thewlis, both of whom were making their official film debuts! You’ll also notice Jim Broadbent in this clip and while he was a fairly established character actor at this point, he was nowhere near as famous as he is now. For such an obscure film, Vroom has quite the all-star cast.
