It’s always been Flint’s dream to be recognized as a great inventor, but everything changes when he discovers that his most infamous machine — which turns water into food — is still operating and is now creating mutant food beasts. With the fate of humanity in his hands, Flint and his friends must embark on a dangerously delicious mission, battling hungry tacodiles, shrimpanzees, apple pie-thons, double bacon cheespiders and other food creatures to save the world… again!
I only ever saw Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs once – in the theatre – but I remember it being a heck of a lot of fun, and especially enjoyed the talking monkey voiced by Neil Patrick Harris. I can’t say as I ever thought it was the kind of movie that needed a sequel, though, and I can’t help but be skeptical at Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2, which may well be just a heartless attempt to squeeze a few more bucks out of a good idea. I mean, this is sorta like The Lost World meets Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, but with way more puns. Y’know, when I type it out like that, it actually sounds kind of amazing. There’s a leek in the boat!
