Celebrity Birthday of the Day – March 3

Charlie Brooker wears many hats, but the man is an absolute genius, so he somehow manages to balance them all brilliantly. Brooker began his career writing game reviews for PC Zone magazine in the mid-1990s, and he moved into writing columns for The Guardian newspaper in the early 2000s. In the mid-2000s, Brooker began writing and presenting his TV series Screenwipe, which lampooned various elements of the television industry. A spinoff show called Newswipe focused on journalism and news media. Both series were eventually merged into Charlie Brooker’s Weekly Wipe, which is airing currently. Brooker has also written two genre series – the first being a five-part zombie thriller called Dead Set, and the second being the sci-fi anthology series Black Mirror (which is brilliant, by the way). If you’ve never heard of any of this stuff, do yourself a favour and check it out. Your life may never be the same. Charlie Brooker turns 42 today.
