Celebrity Birthday of the Day – March 5

Penn Jillette is one of my favourite magicians of all time, as the more vocal half of the Penn and Teller duo. Jillette began his career in magic in his teenage years after becoming enamored of James Randi’s approach to magic and trickery, and in the 1970s developed a magic and juggling act after graduating from Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Clown College. Throughout the 1990s, Penn worked in a variety of different media, as a voice announcer for Comedy Central, as a contributor to PC/Computing magazine, and as a recurring actor on Sabrina, the Teenage Witch. In 2003, he and his partner Teller launched their hit Showtime series Bullshit!, dedicated to debunking social myths and cultural phenomena. In addition, Penn has hosted his own podcast, appeared on TV shows such as Identity, Dancing with the Stars, and Celebrity Apprentice, and in films including Car 54, Where Are You?, Penn & Teller Get Killed, Hackers, Toy Story, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, and The Aristocrats. Penn Jillette turns 59 today.
