There come a time, Kemosabe, when good actress must have cannon leg.

The famed masked hero is brought to life through new eyes. Native American spirit warrior Tonto recounts the untold tales that transformed John Reid, a man of the law, into a legend of justice—taking the audience on a runaway train of epic surprises and humorous friction as the two unlikely heroes must learn to work together and fight against greed and corruption.

I’ve already made my thoughts on The Lone Ranger clear when I’ve posted about it in the past: in a nutshell, I think I’m going to like it about as much as the first Pirates of the Caribbean, but the issue of not having a Native American playing one of pop culture’s more famous Native American characters is probably going to make me feel awkward and therefore unable to admit my enjoyment of it. Anyway, as if the movie didn’t look wacky enough, this new international trailer features a prominent new shot of Helena Bonham Carter with a cannon for a leg, which is just fine by me. Go big or go home, right?

The Lone Ranger comes out July 13, 2013.
