Before They Were Stars: Billy Dee Williams on “Guiding Light”

The Back Row is currently attending Ottawa Comiccon this weekend and one of the guests of honour is Lando Calrissian himself, Billy Dee Williams. So, of course, I felt compelled to search for the earliest Billy Dee Williams footage I could find and I came across this ancient clip from a 1966 episode of Guiding Light. You can see a 27-year old mustache-free Billy Dee pop up as a doctor at the 2:42 mark. In a very cool coincidence, Billy Dee would leave the show later that year and they would cast another up-and-coming actor to take over the role of his character: none other than James Earl Jones! Gee, maybe those two guys should work together on a project sometime in the future…
