The Greatest Gatsby

Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby has been getting pretty tepid reviews, but I’m going to end up seeing it anyways because it was on my most anticipated movies of the year list. Anyway, I find it very interesting that, although it might be hollow or overly flashy, Luhrmann’s adaptation clearly has a hold on the source material in some capacity, as evidenced by this trailer mashup whereby the soundtrack and style of the new Gatsby is applied to the 1974 Jack Clayton adaptation. And it’s cool! A tip of the hat to Youtube user Richard Sandling for this one.
