The last trailer for Man of Steel succeeded where so many other Superman movies failed: it got me excited. Now these TV spots for the film are doing the same…for the most part. My only real complaint about these – and come on, they feature some cool new Michael Shannon footage, so of course I like ’em – is that Papa Kent line. Stand proud…or not? Seriously, they could have come up with something better. Or at least hired someone like Patrick Stewart to give the line a bit of gravitas that Kevin Costner can’t seem to muster.
