I love it when I learn something new and interesting about a celebrity when I write up their birthday bio. Lisa Edelstein’s rise to fame began when she was 18 and moved to New York City to study at the Tisch School of Arts at NYU. Around this time she also became involved in the club scene and became one of those famous club kids referred to in James St. James’ book Disco Bloodbath (later adapted into the film Party Monster). In the 1990s, after writing, composing and starring in an original musical titled Positive Me, Edelstein moved into professional film and television acting, appearing on TV shows such as Mad About You, Wings, ER, Frasier, The West Wing, and Ally McBeal. She has also appeared in films including Keeping the Faith, As Good As It Gets, and What Women Want. But by far her most famous role was Dr. Lisa Cuddy on House. Lisa Edelstein turns 47 today.
