Stephen Boyd was born William Millar in 1931 and began acting in his early 20s, with some of his earliest roles being in the films An Alligator Named Daisy, The Man Who Never Was, Seven Thunders, and The Bravados. He had a prominent role in Ben-Hur, and after winning a Golden Globe for his performance, Boyd became a movie star on an international level. Other notable credits on Stephen Boyd’s resume include The Fall of the Roman Empire, Genghis Khan, Fantastic Voyage, and The Bible: In the Beginning. His final role was in 1977’s The Squeeze. He died of a heart attack the same year on June 2 at the age of 45.
