Hello, I’m Shelley Duvall, and welcome to my celebrity birthday! Shelley Duvall was discovered by a talent agent at a party in 1970, and she made her film debut in Robert Altman’s Brewster McCloud. Altman liked Duvall so much that he cast her in several of his next films, including McCabe & Mrs. Miller, Nashville, and Popeye. In 1980, Duvall played one of her most famous roles as Wendy Torrance in Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining. Shortly thereafter, Duvall became the host and producer of the TV series Faerie Tale Theatre for the next five years. Duvall has also appeared in such films as Time Bandits, Roxanne, and Suburban Commando. She turns 64 today.
