The Seventh Son is basically a quasi-sequel to Season of the Witch

When Thomas, seventh son of a seventh son, is apprenticed to the local Spook, whose job is to fight evil spirits and witches, he expects a life of danger. However, the boy doesn’t realize just how soon he’ll face a powerful enemy alone, as Mother Malkin escapes her confinement while the Spook is away. Thomas is forced to use his wits, and the help of his enigmatic new friend, Alice, to fight the evil witch. And defeating her is only the start of the boy’s problems.

I don’t have a lot to say about The Seventh Son because I think it looks absolutely ridiculous, no matter how awesome Jeff Bridges might be. I’m really only posting the trailer to laugh at it and comment on how Jeff Bridges appears to have spent the past decade sucking on a lozenge.

Sigh, the sad thing is that this is coming out right around my birthday, so I might end up seeing it in theatres, since there probably won’t be much else out at that point. Maybe I’ll just spend my money on beer, instead.

The Seventh Son comes out January 17, 2014.
