50 Years of Trask Industries

The X-Men movies have been so hit-and-miss over the years that I honestly can’t decide how excited I should be over X-Men: Days of Future Past. Now, I’m definitely leaning towards the “extremely excited” end of the spectrum, because X-2 is still the best X-Men movie and it was directed by Bryan Singer, who is doing this new film. And the new film is a continuation of X-Men: First Class, which I thought was awesome, so there’s that. But one of the things that I actually enjoyed about First Class was the conceit that it was rebooting the X-Men timeline so that we could finally forget about X-3 and X-Men Origins: Wolverine, because not only were those both atrocious movies but they messed up the continuity in horrible and stupid ways. But no, Days of Future Past is a continuation of the X-Men saga that ties all of the movies together, which is basically impossible to do flawlessly at this point. I’m actually quite curious to see how it turns out! Anyway, one of the best things about Days of Future Past, besides the fact that it combines the awesome cast of the original X-Men movies with the younger cast from First Class is the inclusion of Peter Dinklage as the villainous Bolivar Trask, creator of the Sentinel robots, which we can see in the viral video above. Oooo, I do love me some Peter Dinklage.

X-Men: Days of Future Past comes out May 23, 2014.
