The Effects of Elysium

Another one of my favourite films of the summer was Neill Blomkamp’s Elysium. Can you tell I love original science fiction movies? Elysium reminded me a lot of old school Paul Verhoeven – a smattering of social and political commentary underneath loads of shoot-em-up action and gore. And man, the special effects were outstanding!
