The U.S. government recruits Machete to battle his way through Mexico in order to take down an arms dealer who looks to launch a weapon into space.
Thus far, Machete Kills has been, shall we say, somewhat underwhelming in terms of its marketing. There have been some good clips released, and the stuntcasting in this movie is just awesome, but I have yet to see something related to the film that’s really made me go “Hell yeah! I need to see this!” Well, that all changes today, because this red band trailer is amazing. Lots of decapitations, lots of exploding helicopters, and Mel Gibson who, for the first time in years, actually looks like he’s having a damn good time in a movie. The guy may have said some shitty things in the past, but you know, I’m willing to look past all that for the sake of a gory, ridiculous, campy movie wherein Mad Mel gets to fight Danny Trejo while wearing a cape.
Machete Kills comes out October 11, 2013.
