In this strange 1978 commercial for Rise shaving cream, Ted Danson plays a stud who needs to sneak out of the house before his girl’s father gets home, but before he leaves, he inexplicably takes the time to shave off his stubble. This commercial is especially bizarre because Ted Danson was 30 years old when it was made and the girl doesn’t look much younger. So.. why is this 30-year old woman worried about her father finding out she has her boyfriend at the house? What kind of abusive relationship is this?!
