Before They Were Stars: 12-Year Old Sarah Michelle Gellar Hosts “Girl Talk”

In 1989, 12-year old Sarah Michelle Gellar was selected to be one of the hosts of a teen magazine show called Girl Talk, which was taped in front of a live studio audience of squealing teenage girls. Her co-hosts were Soleil Moon Frye of Punky Brewster fame and Russell Koplin, who… uh, went on to do the voice of “Pedestrian” in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Only one episode of this show was ever filmed, though they did manage to squeeze in a cameo by the New Kids on the Block. The most hilarious moment here is a special guest appearance by actor Brian Robbins, who was starring on the sitcom, Head of the Class. For whatever reason, the girls in the audience absolutely LOSE THEIR SHIT when he comes out! Little did they know that he would go on to direct Norbit and all those other shitty Eddie Murphy comedies of recent years.
