I was honestly bored by the first Hunger Games movie, but I find myself surprisingly enthused about the sequel The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. I can’t quite explain why, although I suspect it has something to do with the usual sequel formula: let’s do the first movie again, but better this time. The first Hunger Games wasn’t bad, it just lacked tension and had been stripped of the things that would have made the story more compelling. I’d put good money on the sequel getting the formula right this time around.
