Before They Were Stars: Michael K. Williams on “The Sopranos”

Shortly before Michael K. Williams found fame portraying Omar Little on The Wire, he made a brief appearance on another acclaimed HBO series you may have heard of called The Sopranos. Williams appeared in the Season 3 finale as a drug dealer named Ray Ray who shelters Jackie Aprile, Jr. before he is whacked. Of course, one of the most unique traits about Omar on The Wire was that he was openly gay, so it’s quite an interesting parallel that Vito Spatafore, the hitman who whacks Jackie during this scene, would later be forced to go on the run and get whacked himself once word spread that he was a closeted gay mobster.
