Before They Were Stars: David Spade Performs Stand-Up on a Public Access Show

Man, if this clip isn’t the personification of 1980s public access television, I don’t know what is. This is a 1985 episode of a low-budget Arizona-based public access show called Backstage Pass, which happens to feature the first televised appearance of a local up-and-coming stand-up comedian named David Spade. And the show appears to be hosted by a guy in a giant cactus costume wearing sunglasses and a cowboy hat. What else really needs to be said?
