Our destiny lies above us

A group of explorers make use of a newly discovered wormhole to surpass the limitations on human space travel and conquer the vast distances involved in an interstellar voyage.

Meeeeeh. Okay, okay, before the Christopher Nolan fans out there jump down my throat for uttering such an apathetic syllable, I’m sure this movie will be great. Nolan films are, at worst, above average, and at best, spectacular, and I’m sure Interstellar will be no exception to that rule. But this teaser…I dunno. It just doesn’t get my hyped for this movie. Maybe the next trailer will do better, but watching corn fields, Matthew McConaughey, and stock footage does not a compelling trailer make, for me anyway. Space is very in right now, guys, show me some space stuff to get me excited. I feel like this trailer was put together by an Ed Wood wannabe – you know: “Why, if I had half a chance, I could make an entire movie using this stock footage.” Okay, I kid. It’s not nearly Ed Wood quality cheese. But still, I was hoping for something a bit more inspiring. When McConaughey says “To make the unknown…known,” I kinda giggled into my coffee.

Interstellar comes out November 7, 2014.
