One of the more perplexingly stupid trends in movie trailers these days is to quote Twitter users instead of film critics. Who cares what some dork on Twitter has to say about a movie if they’re just a member of the general viewing public? Remember, it was the general viewing public that made Grown Ups profitable enough to warrant a sequel. Anyway, Muppets Most Wanted clearly feels the same way as me, because this latest trailer makes fun of the trend in the best way possible. Apparently Disney has also created all of the Twitter accounts on display in the trailer as tie-ins to the build-up to the film’s release. I love it!
